A Haven flagship Park set around a sandy bay, with a breath taking
backdrop of Snowdonia. Close to one of the busiest market towns in
Britain, Pwllheli's weekly market on Wednesday is not to be missed. Also
boasting a new marina, one of the best in Wales. Pwllheli has two
beaches, Glan-y-Mor is located at the rear of the marina workshops, and
South Beach stretches from Gimblet Rock, across the promenade, and
around
towards llanbedrog. South Beach is mainly shingle and has been awarded
the Blue Flag for clean sands and waters. Also nearby is Caernarfon,
possibly the most famous of Wales' castles which stands at the mouth of
the Seint river. Caernarfon was constructed as a military stronghold and
also as royal palace being the setting for the investiture of the Prince
of Wales in 1969. No trip to North Wales is complete without trying the
Snowdon Mountain Railway, travel to the summit of Snowdon at 3560ft, on
Britain’s highest rack railway.
